| David painted a scene of Hepworth Arcade in July. He was one of a series of artists who painted through the summer months. |
Artist David Work mainly paints on location; “I try to make it a rule to paint from life, I get better results painting outside than I do inside. I like townscapes; I really enjoy painting buildings and I am interested in architecture. I always leave the cars in - it's the 21st century and they are part of the scenery”. Painting and sketching was always something David
Work did between his working hours, but has become a full-time pre-occupation
since retirement. His choice of medium is watercolour and takes his inspiration
from Seago, Wesson and Yardley. |
