This was the hub of the shopping
area early last century. When most of the western shopping district had
not been built. Electric trams were first introduced in 1903. On the left
is the Department store Edwin Davis, and Holy Trinity Church. The King
William statue (still standing) can be seen in the centre of this picture. |
