Lulworth, restored to her 1926 condition, sailing off Portovenere in northern Italy. This painting is an original oil on canvas by marine artist Roger Davies.
Lulworth is the largest gaff-rigged cutter in the world. Lulworth's early performances were disappointing in the 1920's, but Charles Nicholson made changes that realised her potential. She was designed and built the royal cutter Brittania. She was champion of the British regatta circuit's Big Class in 1925 and 1926. At the time Lulworth was owned by Sir Mortimer Singer (of sewing machine fame).
Image size: 90 x 60cm. Frame size: 105 x 75cm. The painting is sympathetically framed, but can be reframed at no extra cost.
