Locomotives from the A1 and re-engineered A3 class represented a major leap forward in steam engineering and were the brainchild of the locomotive designer, Sir Nigel Gresley (1876-1941). This atmopheric picture by David Bell shows five iconic trains from the golden age of steam. From left to right there's the original Great Northern (still as an A1), flanked by Papyrus, with the world’s most famous engine the Flying Scotsman in the centre. The fourth is Diamond Jubilee (note the double chimney) with the Galtee More - complete with German-style smoke deflectors - on the far right.
This fine art limited edition is a giclee print with an edition size of 100 and signed by David Bell. The picture is supplied cellophane wrapped, presented in a generously sized double-mount.
Image size: 53 x 28cm. Mount size: 73 x 49cm.
