For 83 of his 86 years, Jascha
Heifetz (1901-87) played the violin, and for over 60 of them in front
of audiences the length and breadth of the world. Throughout his life,
Jascha Heifetz was known for his flawless technical style. The fierce
virtuoso ended up recording more than 80 albums in his lifetime. Heifetz
received countless Grammy Awards, including the elusive Lifetime Achievement
Award in 1989, and was posthumously inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame
in 1999. |
