Kris
Hardy’s background is in fine art painting and automotive design.
He was born in Nottingham in 1978, where he lived until he went to university
at 19. He studied art and design at college and then vehicle design
at the University of Huddersfield, where he graduated with a 1st Class
Honours Degree in 2000. Kris Hardy then went on to study at the Royal
College of Art in Kensington where he gained his MA. He worked at various
design studios after graduating from the Royal College of Art in 2002,
including Lotus Cars. Since 2003 Kris has concentrated full-time on
his paintings and has exhibited in galleries around the UK. He has undertaken
numerous commissions, with the vast majority of his paintings being
commissioned from the south of England. He recently delivered commissions
to both Boris Johnson, the Mayor of London, and his deputy, Richard
Barnes. Kris has lived in Hull for the
past few years with his partner, and his dog, which he religiously walks
along the river Humber every day.
