Across the summer months of 2009 several artists, in conjuction with Myton Gallery, embarked on painting a view of Hepworth Arcade, Hull. The idea behind the project was to see how each artist would approach the same subject, the decisions they would make on composition, pallette, light and detail. Some of the results are below.

Hepworth Arcade is a unique building in that it is the only 'L' shaped Victorian Arcade in the country. As well as being the location of Myton Gallery, it is also home to several independent retailers who have a long history of trading from this airy shopping arcade. In fact, one of the first locations of Marks & Spencer 'Penny Bazaar' shops is now the exact location of Myton Gallery - number 15 Hepworth Arcade, Hull.
