The Arctic Corsair has the distinction of being the last of the traditional side fishing trawlers of the once numerous British Deep Water Fleet. Built 1960 by Cook, Welton and Gemmell Ltd., at Beverley for Boyd Line Ltd., Hull. Launched 29th February 1960. Sailed maiden voyage 18th June 1960. 8th January 1981 last trip, then laid up. 21st March 1985 returned to fishing. 15th January 1988 registration closed, laid up. 18th June 1993 bought by Hull City Council for use as a museum ship on the river Hull. Gross tons 764. Length 191' 7". Breadth 33' 6". Depth 14' 3". Official number 301638. Call sign GHCB.
