Bruce Kendall was born in Swillington and lives in East Yorkshire. He first became aware of the beauty of the English landscape when, as a child, his parents took him to visit National Trust properties, estates, and art galleries.
Working in oil on canvas, Bruce paints traditional landscape scenes of the Dales, the North York Moors, the Lake District and landscapes nearer to home around the East Riding of Yorkshire. Bruce readily acknowledges an influence by artists such as William Benjamin Leader and by the Pre-Raphaelites William Holman Hunt and Ford Maddox Brown.
Bruce Kendall also paints scenes of a more fantastical nature featuring fairies, elves, goblins and other mythical beings or supernatural creatures, many of which are depicted in dusk or moonlight woodland scenes.
His paintings are bought by collectors across England and are in private collections in Italy, Germany and Japan.
Bruce Kendall's signed limited editions are the highest quality Giclee Prints on fine art paper.
