Irena Kurowska was born in Edinburgh and now lives in Yorkshire. After gaining a degree in fine art, Irena chose to do a postgraduate course in art therapy, and a further postgraduate course in psychotherapy. She worked for many years as an art psychotherapist with the NHS and in private practice.
Working in oils, acrylics, and watercolours, Irena is drawn to the quiet moments in life, and nature is her ideal subject. She paints to record the beauty of our countryside, and to explore the emotional impact of this with colour and form. Irena's work is about the places where we live, work, and play, and which we enjoy every day. She feels it is important to cherish this land for the generations to come, so that they too can find pleasure in it.
